What is Health? This is one of the most asked questions. I searched the internet for the most concise and simplest definitions about health and I found two that I want to share with you. Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not just the absence of disease or infirmity. - World Health Organization. That was a short definition. Here's a longer, more thoughtful
definition of health. We seek and pursue good health in everything we do. We must. We are living longer. When you live longer but don't have a healthy lifestyle, disease finds you. The World Health Organization says "nearly 400 million people will die from heart disease, diabetes and other chronic ailments over the next 10 years, but many of those deaths can be prevented by healthier lifestyles and inexpensive medication." Inexpensive Medication.
Schedule a complete medical check-up as often as your doctor
recommends. If your doctor prescribes medication, take it as
often as they prescribe it. If you are on a fixed income, or
don't have insurance, tell that to your doctor. Often there are
less expensive generic versions of these medications that can be
substituted. Your doctor will work with you to help you with
choices that are right for you. Healthier Lifestyles. Eat properly for good health. Eat a well balanced, healthy diet and make that part of your lifestyle. Often, we pursue a new diet and try it only for a short time. Maybe we achieve our weight loss, or lower our cholesterol levels, but as soon as that goal is reached, we go back to our original diet and in a very short time we are right back where we started. A diet change needs to become a total and complete part of your lifestyle always. Be mindful that health is a harmony with your mind, body and spirit.
Day-to-day tensions at work or at home can create discomfort and even
elevate blood pressure. Be sure to leave some time in your day that's
just for you. Read a book, enjoy something you care about every
day. Laugh often, love someone or some thing. You'll be happier
